Ketogenic food list (low carb/keto/LCHF)

ketogenic food listKetogenic food list

Make sure you always read labels just in case there are hidden carbs! Some of these food items are more healthy than others but all in all this is a pretty good ketogenic food list. It’s best to mix things up, some people think that a ketogenic diet is all about eating bacon and eggs all day long but it really isn’t. Try to get a good mix of fat, protein and most of your carbs from low carb veggies. They fill you up, give you vitamins and help with digestion. I try to aim for 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs, you can always browse through my blog to read more about the ketogenic (low carb) diet, find some good recipes etc. That being said, here’s a ketogenic food list for you :)

Hi there! I’m a newbie, trying to put things together, for the moment I’m feeling really good with this new way of eating (should I say new way of living :-) All my life stuffing myself with lots of grains, fruits, vegetables, low low low fat food and fighting with overweight, digestive disorder, allergies, dermatitis, hormone problems a.s.o. now I find myself a different person. Thank you very much for your work, it really helps me. One little comment: peanuts are nuts? As they don’t grow on trees, aren’t they more related to dry beans? Thanks again, and please excuse me if I made any mistake, I’m not a native English speaker.

Hi Ana :) Keep up the good work, I know exactly what you mean about eating low fat, grains and fruit and really struggling with it. I find that after you get over the first few days of a low carb diet it’s so much easier! :) You’re right, peanuts are not nuts, they’re legumes. I’m not a native English speaker either but I think your English is very good. Good luck with your new way of living low carb!

    Hello,
I was wondering if eggs were a part of the diet? Did not see them on the list of foods, but they seem like a good choice and healthy.
Also, have you heard of a ketogenic diet reversing kidney disease in mice? Wondering what your thoughts might be since they say that a ketogenic diet is too dangerous at the levels they mention in this article. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/42689095/ns/health/#.UY3CIcqTVhd
    Thanks for your time,
    Greg
