Ketosis is a state in which the human body lacks carbohydrate and for energy, it depends upon proteins and fat. It is the process of burning fat by reducing carbohydrate intake. When fatty acid oxidation reaches the higher level our liver cannot metabolize them all, as a result, they will be shunted to our circulation. Ketosis should not cause a loss of muscle tissue, until and unless you are totally out of fat to burn.

Keto/Ketosis Diet (low carb high fat)
If anyone wants to lose weight, go for a ketosis diet. It is a low carb, high in fat diet with moderate protein, made up of 65% fats, 30% protein and 5% carbs. It shifts the metabolism of your body, instead of taking energy from carbohydrate it will take from fat. The goal of this diet is consuming more fatty food instead of carbohydrate and protein and converting stored fats into energy.

Fats are broken down into fatty acids and ketones. Once ketones are created it will not convert back to fat and it will be excreted from the body naturally or they may be stored for releasing energy whenever needed. The ketosis diet or low carb high in fat diet improves metabolism but doesn’t result in loss of muscle tissue, it’s a common misconception. Main side effects are general fatigue and keto flu in the first few days. Diabetics should consult a doctor (please make sure he’s well educated about low carb dieting and has his facts straight) before going on the keto diet.

While on a Low Carb High Fat Diet..
Low carbohydrate diet may induce benign ketosis, a healthy condition where body utilizes fat as its main source of fuel. Benign ketosis occurs in the first few days after following a low carb high fat diet, as the body will start burning fat at this point
Ketosis is very effective as well as instrumental. The body loses weight when the carbohydrate intake is low and this forces the body to utilize the fat for energy. This is the main reason the low carb high fat diet is so effective. But the reason is that eating so much fat will result in you eating less overall without feeling hungry.
